VFW RIDERS HAMPTON ROADS VIRGINIA Welcome to our website! We are a riding club, not a motorcycle club (MC) made up of an equal partnership between the VFW and VFW Auxiliary (mens and ladies) members in good standing. The club has many goals, and is primarily focused towards promoting and supporting the VETERANS of FOREIGN WARS and the VFW AUXILIARIES. Our members come from all walks of life with two things in common, membership in the VFW or one of it's Auxiliaries and our love of riding. This group was the brainchild of Anthony Watson and John Long, together with 11 other charter members, Carol Watson, Carmen Long, Thomas Clevenger, Steve & Sheila Lewis, Johnnie & Patsy Holland, Randy & Debra Schilling, Shane Kaufman and Kim DeShano, they held many, many meetings to iron out all the rough edges in order to create the group's constitution and bylaws. The Charter Members all have some motorcycle history with each other and wanted to create a riding group affiliated with the VFW and it's Auxiliaries. I'd say they were successful! From those 13 charter members we now have almost 60 members and we're growing practically every month. Our group is comprised by members from several different VFW posts in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, including posts #4809, 3160, 3219, 392 & 993. Since it's inception the VFW Riders have grown to include quite a few other chapters across the nation. (see our links page for some of them) We will work hard at promoting this club and encouraging new membership, but we do have admittance requirements. If any one is interested in becoming a member, the first step is to contact a member of the club in good standing. Glenn Holman Ride Safe and Have Fun! President of the VFW Riders glennov3160@cox.net
